Internet Safety – Taking Control

As many of you know, we try to ensure that our pupils and students are aware of how to operate safely online through guidance in ICT lessons and in regular assemblies on this theme.

We are in the process of arranging an information evening for parents on this topic but as today is internet safety day we thought it would be useful to share some resources with you in the hope that it not only better informs you but allows you to have conversations with your daughters on topics around the internet and social media.

The attached resources come from the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Agency (CEOP) who have a parents portal which can be found at www.thinkuknow.co.uk I am an ambassador for this organisation and so use these resources in my assemblies at school as well as delivering them at other schools and institutions

The student implementation guide contains follow-up exercises and activities, as well as tips for putting the skills into practice.  Students that use these resources see a significant increase in skill retention, and they form an integral part of the programme.
