General Election at St Martha’s 2017

All students at St Martha’s School were given the chance to vote today in this years General Election!

Our Mock Election Polling Station opened this morning at 8am and closed at 1.40pm.

The Polling Station was run throughout the day by 1st year students; Bally, Ella, Keren, Raquel, Katrina, Maria, Rosslyn, Antonia and Freya.

The poll took place following our General Election Assembly 2 weeks ago where four 6th Form students representing the Conservative , Lib-Dems, Labour and Green Party  presented their case to our students.

The ballot was then counted  by our 1st Form 7 Election Officals  and the result announced at 2pm throughout the school.

The Results were:

  • Labour: 37%
  • Green Party: 32%
  • Conservatives: 23%
  • Liberal Democrats: 6%
  • Spoilt: 2%

We now wait to see if this will prediction echoes tonight’s result!
